As World Cup fever drives the rise of Blokecore, these collections offer the perfect way to tap into the look
When you first hear the term Blokecore, you might assume it refers to the way the average British man dresses, given that “bloke” is British slang for a man. While that assumption isn’t entirely off the mark, the trend has evolved into something much more fashion-centric.
Blokecore is all about incorporating football jerseys into everyday streetwear. Inspired by football culture, the trend takes jerseys off the pitch and places them firmly in the fashion conversation. The jerseys are no longer reserved for match days and loyal supporters but have become a wardrobe staple embraced by fashion enthusiasts, influencers, and trendsetters alike.
The classic Blokecore formula is simple: a football jersey paired with preferred bottoms, Sambas, or your favourite sneakers. These days, however, the trend has taken on a life of its own. Fashion lovers are constantly reinventing it, styling jerseys with everything you could think of — Skirts, shorts, jorts, jumpsuits, and layers — making the look feel more personal and expressive.
Due to the excitement for the World Cup, Blokecore is experiencing yet another surge in popularity. As such, we wanted to spotlight some brands and collections that have successfully tapped into the aesthetic. The good news is that many streetwear brands already have football-infused collections in their archives and current offerings, making the trend easy to shop.

Ashluxe

Model in Ashluxe jersey via @ashluxe on Instagram As one of the most prominent streetwear brands in the country, Ahsluxe has consistently embraced football-inspired fashion, regularly releasing jerseys that resonate with its audience. In 2023 and 2024, the brand unveiled its Olympiad and Olympiad 2.0 collections, both of which centred heavily on jersey-style pieces designed to be styled in a variety of ways.
Aside from these dedicated collections, jerseys have remained a recurring feature across the brand’s broader offerings, often appearing as standalone pieces in seasonal drops. This makes Ashluxe a natural starting point for anyone looking to tap into the Blokecore aesthetic without feeling like they’re wearing a traditional football kit.
Severe Nature

Guinness x Severe Nature collaboration via @severenature on Instagram The same can be said for Severe Nature, a brand that has built a strong reputation for its jersey-inspired collections. One of its most notable releases was the “Guinness x Severe Nature” collaboration, which showcased the classic jersey through the lens of culture, fashion, and lifestyle. The brand has also partnered with names such as Hennessy and Beauty Hut Africa, proving that the jersey can transcend sports and resonate across different industries and communities.
Rather than sticking to a single silhouette, the brand experiments with different cuts, colours, and styles, including cropped jerseys for women, oversized fits, and ruched designs. This brings together a collection of trendy pieces, easy to incorporate into everyday wardrobes while still capturing the essence of the Blokecore aesthetic.
Meji Meji

Dolce Dusi via @mejimeji.co on Instagram For lovers of modern Gen Z fashion, Meji Meji is another brand that deserves a place in the Blokecore conversation. While the label may not be exclusively known for football-inspired pieces, it has embraced the aesthetic in ways that feel feminine and youthful.
A popular jersey from them is the Ghana jersey, a piece that has become a fan favourite. Meji Meji also offers a range of tops that tap into the same energy. Even styles that aren’t technically football jerseys, like the baby tees, still evoke that sporty cut and feel of the trend.
+234

Models in +234 Jerseys via @official234store on Instagram +234 is perhaps one of the brands most closely associated with the jerseys, having made football-inspired pieces a core part of its identity. Over the years, the brand has released several jerseys that have become well-liked and sold out. Pieces such as the Sabi Girl Jersey, Supa Strika Jersey, +243 Jersey, and more have all resonated strongly with shoppers, particularly among women.
Instead of the oversized silhouettes, many of +234’s designs are tailored to sit closer to the body, creating a more body-con fit. Combined with bold graphics and highly wearable designs, the jerseys are definitely a go-to choice for those in the Blokecore trend.

Nike’s – “Go Slawn or Go Home” collection

X2: Nike ’26 Collab Kit Go Slawn Or Go Home via @olaoluslwayn on Instagram Nike’s recent collaboration with Nigerian-British artist Olaolu Slawn is a perfect example of how football-inspired fashion continues to evolve beyond the pitch. Released as part of Nike’s 2026 summer campaign, the X2 capsule collection brought together street art, football heritage, and Nigerian pop culture.

Lisa Folawiyo’s “The Starting Line” collection

Models for the starting line by Lisa Foliwayo via @lisafolawiyo_studio on Instagram Although not technically a jersey collection, this one deserves a special mention. The intersection of high fashion and sports is hardly new, but few Nigerian designers explored it as thoughtfully as Lisa Folawiyo did with her 2025 collection, The Starting Line.
Drawing on the world of sports, Folawiyo used the collection to explore themes of ambition, perseverance, and personal growth. As she described it, the collection sought to “interpret the idea of life through sports. We all strive as individuals, constantly pushing to achieve something.” She opted to translate sporting motifs into fashion pieces, rather than relying on traditional football jerseys.
The collection featured skirts and blouses in Nigeria’s national colours, beaded football-shaped bags, and bodices with football pitch-inspired patterns. Also, vibrant colour palettes that captured the energy and excitement of the game. Although The Starting Line has since sold out, its impact remains noteworthy.
The lasting power of sportswear
The beauty of the Blokecore trend is its simplicity, really. Time and time again, we’ve seen communities and shared interests transform functional items into fashion regulars. The same can be said for football jerseys.
Historically, it began as a staple among British football fans, but it has gradually evolved into a global fashion movement embraced by everyone. That’s the fascinating thing about fashion. It has a way of taking cultural symbols and giving them entirely new meanings.
If you’re looking to experiment with the Blokecore style, the brands on this list are a great place to start. Even if these particular labels aren’t your go-to, chances are you’ll find football-inspired pieces at countless other brands and stores near you. With the trend enjoying such a strong moment, jerseys are becoming harder and harder to miss, and we’ve put together just the right styling tips for you.
