Love Island returns, and we’re officially locked in for another season of chaos, romance, and drama.

Love Island is back, and as expected, the internet is already in a full-blown frenzy. For those who don’t know, Love Island is an international reality dating show where single contestants, also known as “Islanders”, live together in an isolated luxury villa while being filmed. To stay in the game, they must remain in a pair as a couple, with the final winning pair decided by public vote, and then walk away with a cash prize.

Think of it as the global equivalent of Nigeria’s Big Brother, just with less clothing and a slightly higher level of chaos.

This year’s UK season kicked off on June 1, with the US edition following closely on June 2. Although it’s only been a little over a week, the internet is already in overdrive. Fan favourites are being locked in, winners are being predicted, and drama is unfolding in real time.

Like the rest of the world, we’re not sitting this one out. Several members of our team are longtime fans of the show, so to fully tap into the moment, we’ve put together our own predictions on who might become the next it-girl of the internet, if they haven’t already claimed the title. Here are our top picks.

Love Island USA 

Melanie Moreno

The 24-year-old has been getting a lot of attention lately. Moreno currently works as a manager at a bikini store and has also done some modelling in the past. 

Sparks have already been flying between her and fellow islander Sincere. While with shows like this you never really know until you know, she’s quickly becoming a standout. She’s pretty, funny, and just the right amount of chaotic, which is exactly why fans can’t wait to see more of her.

Trinity Tatum

Trinity is a 22-year-old makeup artist and model. Fans have been loving her for her funny, chill, and mature personality despite her age. 

She’s also been getting close to fellow contestant Bryce, who seems to be head over heels for her. Some viewers have even started comparing them to Nic and Olandria from the last season. But as always, we’ll have to wait and see where things go from here.

She has firmly cemented herself as a fan favourite, and fans can’t wait to see how things develop for her, particularly with Bryce.

Aniya  Harvey 

Aniya Harvey is a 23-year-old marketing director for a non-profit and a former college volleyball player. She’s also the daughter of notable former NBA player Donnell Harvey. On the show, she has coupled up with KC Chandler.

She’s undeniably a stunning woman, and fans have been drawn to her natural charm and presence. However, some viewers have also expressed that they’d love to see her lean more into her confidence, especially because she already carries herself with so much potential. Hopefully, as the season unfolds, she steps even more fully into that self-assured energy she clearly has.

Love Island UK

Jasmine Müller

Jasmine Müller is a 27-year-old originally from Dubai who now lives in London. She quickly became a fan favourite thanks to her straightforward attitude and complete lack of patience for toxic behaviour. Unafraid to speak her mind, she has brought plenty of entertainment to the villa already.

When it comes to romance, things have been anything but simple. Jasmine has found herself caught between three different connections: Lorenzo, who appears to have the biggest piece of her heart; Kavan, who feels more like a fling; and Samraj, whom many fans are already predicting could be her endgame.

With the season still in its early days, there’s plenty of time for things to change, and that’s exactly what makes watching her journey so exciting.

Angelista Gunda 

Angelsita Gunda is a 24-year-old mental health and general nurse who has quietly won over viewers with her beauty, intelligence, and warm personality. While fans have been rooting for her from the start, many have also expressed frustration over how little screen time she has received so far. Adding to the concern is the fact that she hasn’t attracted as much attention from the other Islanders as some of her fellow contestants.

Despite the slow start, viewers are hopeful that her moment is still on the horizon. It’s still too early to tell, but one thing is certain: Angelsita has already made an impression on fans, and many are hoping she gets the chance to show herself in the weeks ahead.

Mica Harris 

At just 21 years old, Harris is the youngest Islander in this year’s lineup, but she’s already making a big impression. She is from Barbados but lives in London, where she studies. Mica has won viewers over with her bubbly personality and infectious energy.

She is currently coupled up with Samraj, and while it’s still early days, fans have been drawn to her warm, cheerful nature. With plenty of time left in the villa, many are eager to see even more of what she brings to the show.

Ellie Chadwick

Ellie Chadwick is a 24-year-old real estate videographer who has quickly made a name for herself and the ability to stand her ground. She’s not the type to let people walk all over her, and fans have admired the confidence and self-respect she brings to the villa.

While she can be a little hot-headed, ‌ it’s part of what makes her so entertaining to watch. She is funny, outspoken, and never afraid to say what’s on her mind. Despite her fiery moments, she rarely comes across as rude or disrespectful, striking a balance between being assertive and staying true to herself. It’s this combination of confidence, humour, and authenticity that has viewers rooting for her.

It’s still anyone’s game

With the season only just getting started — and running for six weeks in the US and eight weeks in the UK — there’s still so much, and we mean so much, that could happen. Couples will almost certainly be tested, heads will turn, loyalties will be questioned, and plenty of drama is still waiting to unravel.
